An Enduring Commitment: How a Simple Idea Built EIM Academy

I'm Daniel Cao, the founder of EIM Technology and EIM Academy. As I’m writing this, I can still clearly remember the excitement seven years ago when we saw the first pre-orders come in for our very first product, MEGO. That moment came 14 months after we had made the decision to start a company, which was a time when we had no income and no real plan, just a simple goal and a lot of hope.

We worked, lived, and built everything in a small rented corner of a factory. Surrounded by buzzing machines and the smell of solder, our first prototypes slowly came to life, piece by piece, assembled by our own hands.

The idea started from a very real problem I faced in my thesis research. I was constantly moving heavy, expensive instruments between labs that often didn’t have even the most basic electronics. Sometimes all they needed was something simple, like a power supply or a basic sensor. So I built a small, portable power supply and a few modular circuits to help with that. To my surprise, my peers loved the idea. Many of them, even without electronics backgrounds, were genuinely curious and wanted to learn.

Through a few small club events and workshops, I realized this curiosity wasn’t just in my circle. In fact, it was everywhere. A lot of people wanted to explore electronics, but the cost and complexity kept them away. That’s where our journey really began.
